Finding a job

Trying to find a job can be a very challenging task to undertake on your own. Not knowing what jobs are out there, what training you may need or indeed just being unsure about how returning to work will impact on other aspects of your life can be are difficult matters to consider on your own.

The Blanchardstown Local Employment Service (LES Joblink) team understands this. They recognise the various pressures and difficulties that can be attached to finding a job and can offer support and advice on how to overcome these challenges. No matter how great or small your query about finding a job might be, LES / Joblink can to assist.

LES / Joblink have four offices throughout Blanchardstown and cater for those who have been out of work for some time (a minimum of six months) and may need that extra bit of support to get back into the workforce. The service employs a team of professionals to meet the needs of jobseekers from all backgrounds and ages in Dublin 15.

The team are particularly equipped to deal with the extra demands faced by those coming back into the workforce after long periods of time – possibly due to illness, recovering from addiction, caring for others in the home, parenting, etc.

LES / Joblink offers assistance in writing a CV, applying for jobs, preparing for interviews as well as listening to clients’ concerns and answering any questions they might have about going out to work.

It is not just in the area of job seeking that LES / Joblink offers assistance. It also provides a range of other information in relation to training programmes and educational courses. Assistance can be offered to improve a client’s work skills or education before applying for a particular job.

So if you feel the time is right to take a course or find a job then a visit to LES / Joblink could be your first step. The service is free and confidential and for all those of working age and out of work for six months or more. An Irish work permit is also necessary.

The four local LES / Joblink offices are located at Blakestown Community Centre (tel. 822 6008); Dillon House, Coolmine Business Park (tel. 820 6379); Mountview Resource Centre (tel. 822 6000) and Parslickstown House (tel. 822 6003).

The service is open from Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm and Fridays 9.00am to 4.00pm. The offices are closed for lunch from 1 - 2pm.
