Cezary with his certificate
A very important part of the Ready–Steady–Go project was the development of a training programme which
focused on job-seeking skills and workplace English. The following is one trainee’s experience, in his own words . . .
"My name is Cezary, I arrived in Ireland from Poland almost three years ago. The job market situation in Dublin and in whole of Ireland has been changing from year to year and now is in really bad condition."
"Since one year I’m unemployed, I registered in FÁS and Social Welfare and after six months of my unemployment fortunately I got a proposition to attend the Ready Steady Go course which was organised by LES."
"This was very, very good experience for me and my colleagues on course. This course helped me to prepare a very good cv and cover letter etc. It showed me techniques on how to know myself and be positive at an interview and of course we’ve improved English, business English and computer skills (MS office)."
"I got a chance to be a ECDL tutor in one of courses in Baptec which was a big experience for me and showed mehow to be a good teacher or tutor. After a half year of unemployment I’ve moved from FÁS to LES. In LES every unemployed person has the chance to be better motivated in looking for a new job."
