'start UP' is designed to provide participants with an overview as to what is involved with running a business.
The 'start UP' series is targeted at people who are considering starting a business but are unsure where or how to begin. The objective of the 3 day programme is to answer the major questions that most people have about starting or running a business – no matter how big or small.
'start UP' will answer the major questions that most people have about starting or running a business and much, much more.
We will also show you how you can retain your Social Welfare payments & start a business.
Day 1
- what the Enterprise Dept can do for YOUR business
- what's it all about?
- the realities of running a business
- debunking the myths
- assessing your idea
- the practicalities of setting up a business
- how to register
- legal structures - sole trader v ltd company
Day 2 
- how the tax system works
- taxes for self employed
- how is taxable income calculated
- Revenue – what you can expect from them & what they will expect from you
- VAT
- Social Welfare and self employment
Day 3
This day is all about setting out a plan for your business and writing it down.
