A well-attended and informative event in Symantec in the Ballycoolin Industrial Estate in Blanchardstown on Monday April the 28th was told of the very practical support given by the Symantec company to the Learning @ Work project.

On 25th January over 40 employers and managers from large multinationals such as IBM and Symantec to local SME’s attended an Employers Breakfast Training Workshop entitled, “Working Effectively Across Cultures” in the LINC Centre on the ITB Campus. Feedback from the morning was excellent with employers reportedly, ‘enjoying the interactive nature of the training’.

Who is eligible?
Are you a young adult aged 17-25, who is working but left school after the Junior Certificate?
Courses on offer
If your employer agrees you can attend for 2-4 hours per week, during the working day courses on computers, communication skills, and short taster courses on first aid, fitness, safe driving. We hope to offer Leaving Certificate English in the autumn.
This programme is running in 3 areas of Dublin and in Kildare and Wicklow. The Dublin Employment Pact developed the idea and the Department of Education and Science and FAS are the main funders.
